RE: Campus Emergency Power OutageAt 1p.m. this afternoon, a 10” waterline burst in the steam tunnels causing flooding in Hinderaker, Fine Arts Building and Physical Education. Power outages have hit a number of buildings in that region of the campus. Building occupants were evacuated as necessary and electricity has been lost in numerous buildings.
If your building is affected power will most likely not be restored today and you are advised to leave the campus in an orderly fashion. Please refrain from utilizing elevators, even in unaffected buildings, as electrical service on campus may be somewhat unpredictable until full service is restored.
Physical Plant, EH&S and UCPD are on the scene. Updates regarding this event continue via Scotmail, the campus emergency notification system as warranted, and will be posted on www.campusstatus.ucr.edu . Please check the website for continuous information to assist you and for the status of your building.
Due to the power outage please share this message verbally with all.
